Verse: You gotta hustle everyday and pursue You say you bout em blue notes get your game like Snoop Sometimes we fall but just hang right through What doesn’t break you shapes for the better though you may like proof Let me explain No matter how many will try and damage you You gotta let the caged bird free like maya angelou And even when you down on your knees, the power is deep inside So don’t ever let your mind just abandon you Strive and continue making plenty adjustments Course correct your drive the engine is struggling Force the best of your mind to wrestle they judgements When you fall down soon as they laugh get up and Say I got this All you gotta do is plan and process Stay zen keep your mind wide Alan Watts it Patience, you just gotta think about your options So never settle there’s too many things to accomplish

Let me tell you a story Here’s one about you Looking at each memory As it runs away I know the words are there Running forward but arriving further away Sore from trying, sore from dying Can they forgive me Walk along the earth Too late for new beginnings There’s something in my brain And I think I know what it means How strange how bizarre This thing that is inside me Does it exist at all? Can you see Each memory As it floats away Think think think Like reaching through a grate with smaller and smaller slats Chained to a Styrofoam block Floating further away out to sea There's no looking back Day by day One less thing Tell me can you hear me

Verse 1: I was, stuck in the past And struggled to grasp How nobody else determines how I structure my path Confronted by doubts and fears I wanna surpass But still I’m here feeling like the world’s all on my back Like what’s the point of my ambitions I’m feel I’m failing ever damn mission Not seeing the purpose of these transitions Work till I’m sore and my hands twitching But still I stand living in this paradigm I just can’t shift it I’m used to the norms we all adopt Tryna fit in to society accepting all the common thoughts I work forever cause it’s all I got I was taught by peer pressure to never try to think out the box Chorus: We all just tryna find the way What’s the point of all the strife that we take? Wishin you had another life to embrace When the truth is success is right in your face There’s no point of spending life in a cage Cause you might just attain new heights through the pain So don’t you complain there’s a price when you gain Life only works right when you fight for you aim So you learn everytime you fall Ya backs on the wall Little passion involved but you Should keep pushing till at last your beyond The life most of us don’t actually want Verse 2: I was holding on to a dying way of life Same routine failed to every triumph through the strife Now I fight, my true destiny is now in sight Screw the hype, I’m so used to be too polite Trying hard to fit inside of they plan But when I try to advance I get striked then they hide they hands That’s why we rarely ever find a chance To survive and stand when conformity’s in high demand What a dichotomy honestly Either follow policy or keep the same routine I’d would rather try properly Caught between a scheme I can never find harmony Lost in a regime where I’m seen as a commodity -Chorus- 2 Mass, we’re planetary baby We got love for all of y’all Just tryna give y’all that good music you know Let’s keep it rolling Verse 3: I stopped following the same propaganda We give em Flak now we are the main cause of slander How so? Listen you never gave us the answers Just made us feel like we should obey all your standards Now we brain dead that’s why this games hard to handle Cause we’re trained to be slaves to the face on the channel Keep a strong mind, watch who you make your example Cause the wrong leader will have you faith up in shambles Got a reality check I’ve casually slept For so long asking why it ain’t happening yet? But I’m still tryna tackle this debt Battling stress, panicking less I never could imagine the rest Of my future being so damn great I know exactly, how to plan, chase execute my dreams At a fast pace In this rat race I stand true Looking back I see the struggle had a purpose now I’m brand new Now I’m brand new -Chorus- Hook: We got it go get it and do it everyday We got it go get it improve, make a move We got it go get it it’s never a debate We gotta go get it it’s never too late We gotta go get it and get up in a groove We got it go get it it’s true, you can do it We got it go get it, we never want a break We gotta go get it it’s never too late

If you like to tell me how it feels Might be a little bit unsteady So I say hey, let's bring it down Tune it up from the ground The thrill diving in for the first time Taking that jump off solid ground Ain't nothin' sweeter, baby, than a first time Hey sugar, you can't go wrong Ooooo alright now Ooooo come on There ain't no sense in waiting It's only bringing you down Everybody knows Nobody's a pro on the first time Everybody knows Nobody's a pro on the first time So give it a go! When was the first time You thought better late than never When was the first time Knew you won't live forever When was the first time You got caught in stormy weather When was the first time You made a comeback clever When was the first time Turned green with envy When was the first time Thought enough was plenty When was the first Kiss When was the first Trip When was the first Show When was the first Fire When was the first time The choice was yours to make When was the first time The chance was yours to take What was the first Love What was the first Fight What was the first Ride What was the first Goodbye If you like to tell me how it feels Might be a little bit unsteady So I say honey, slow it down Tune it up from the ground

about

Today performing under the newly formed moniker 2Mass, Craig and Andrew are releasing their debut EP comprised of six songs: five original songs written primarily by the two founders and a single, downtempo cover of the Bruno Mars hit, “Finesse”.

Andrew reflects, “Craig and I were grinding hard, taking a lot of gigs up in the mountains and playing in some larger groups. These were great opportunities but we were driving back one day after a particularly arduous set of gigs and said, ‘you know, we could have a lot more fun as a duo, so we set out to write an album.’ Craig added, “And then, before the creative process could get into full swing, COVID hit and we got stuck in quarantine, which sucked. We couldn’t get together and rehearse. So we met every week on Skype and passed virtual recording sessions with various song ideas back and forth.”

The new EP was recorded by Mike Kwiatek at Big K Ranch Studios, just north of Fort Collins, Colorado. “The studio is amazing,” Andrew said, “the studio is way out in the foothills in northern Colorado and there is nothing around; your pure focus out there is music with a side serving of nature when you need it.” The two spent a total of 5 days at the studio and were joined for three of those days by Ryan Montaño. His beautiful tone, memorable compositions and precise technique have garnered him national radio airplay and festival performances across the country. His talent and vivacious playing are on full display on “Around the Sun.”

The six track EP also features a range of phenomenally talented musicians. Vocalist Adryon de León, who most recently performed backup vocals on a GRAMMY nominated performance by Lady Gaga joins the group for “Can You Hear Me”. Written about Andrew’s late father, her voice fills the track with nuance and grace, eulogizing an important and personal figure for the band.
Singer and songwriter Elise Wunder drops in on “First Time”, lending her keen ear and creative lyrical mind to the catchy melody after a long conversation in the studio about everyone’s first concert.
Matt Grundstad (Euforquestra, Dubskin) aka the Funkmaster came and injected some serious energy into “The Transition.” “Honestly, we didn’t even know what was going on with this song for the longest time,” Craig said, “we just knew that Matt had to come play percussion on it – congas, timbales, shakers – and it worked! Andrew threw down this Latin style rhythm on the studio’s grand piano and we were all moving and shaking in the studio that day.”
Rapper and lyricist Northside Nate was the final piece that tied the album together. “We were looking for MCs and rappers, so where do you go to find out-of-network talent these days? The internet! And Nate just comes in and throws down some hard lyrics that really vibe with Craig and me on a spiritual level.”
The EP was mastered by Jason Livermore at the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO.
